Through making a short video of a popular children's story, I checked the software and was able to use almost all the features without any previous experience. VideoScribe is most people's best video animation program.

If you are interested in creating an animation for your business website, advertising, or educational purpose video, this software is worth using.

It includes a free library of images and sounds, putting at your fingertips everything you need.You can download the software to as many computers as you need (although it can only be used on one at a time), and it has cloud support to access your work or home projects.

The software can be used with all modern versions of Windows.In just a few seconds, it can be installed without any confusing settings.

What Is Videoscribe?

VideoScribe is a Sparkol-developed high-quality program that helps users create whiteboard animations and explain videos.

Usually, these videos feature a voiceover that explains a story, product or idea accompanied by images that appear to be drawn on the screen as the video progresses.

This style has become widely recognised for high interaction levels of the audience and is considered to be extremely effective in the advertising and education industries.

If you decide to buy the software, you can pay $144 for one year of access, or pay $29 a month at any time, and terminate or resume your contract.They offer discounts for education, non-profit, and multiple licenses.

Is this safe?

Yes, this softwere is completely safe.It installs smoothly and only interacts to export or import files you pick from your computer.It contains no malware and comes from a well-known company called Sparkol in the UK.(source: CompaniesHouse.gov.uk)

You will need to connect those accounts if you want to export to Youtube or Facebook, but those privileges can be revoked whenever you want.Without your explicit permission, VideoScribe can't do anything through your account.

How does this work?

For as powerful a tool as it turned out to be, VideoScribe has a surprisingly simple editor.The editor is divided into a main canvas region, as you can see in the image, with a timeline along the bottom and a toolbar along the top.
I found it painless and easy to navigate to create a video. You can use the toolbar to add content for your video with text, image, or chart.
However, you're going to want to wait until you're done, adding audio and voiceover clips.

Videoscribe Software Walkthrough

Once you have installed and running the VideoScribe doodle animation software, you will come to the VideoScribe login screen and enter your email address and password you used when you signed up and just click the Login button at the bottom right corner.

It will take you to the project screen after you signed in, where you can see all your saved scribes(If there's any, if you haven't yet created a scribe, it'll be empty).

Here you can create folders to organize your projects and you can also save your scribes online that I'm going to talk about later in this review, but what we're going to do for now is I'm going to walk you through creating your first scribe and you can do that by clicking the first rectangle on the project screen(The one with the icon "plus").

Canvas with Videoscribe

Once the rectangle has been pressed, it will take you to the main edit screen where you will see the following:

1.The tool bar is at the top. 2.You'll see the timeline at the bottom 3.You'll see the canvas field in the center

In fact, the white canvas is like a huge whiteboard area, and it actually extends in all directions, and what you see here is just a small part of it.

Adding elements of VideoScribe

Now that we're finished introducing you to VideoScribe's pieces, I'll show you how to add some elements to this animation program in the whiteboard style, such as images and text elements, and how to place and control these elements on the canvas.

Add an element of the image

You can see a group of icons at the top of the toolbar, and there is the first icon to add your image. If you click on it, you'll get several pictures you can put on your canvas.

You can use the following to add an image component to your VideoScribe project:

1.Use the search bar to find an image 2.From your recently used images, you can select an image 3.You can also import pictures by using your computer or looking at the internet.

Now, I want to show you the picture library, and by clicking on this icon you can access it

(see the image below).

What's nice about this doodle software is that it has a huge library of all kinds of images, so you don't have to create your own images and what you can do is just go straight to the library and start using 

these images on your project, and the good thing about it is that the images are well organized and 

sorted by folder depending on the image category.

I just want to remind you that some folder images can only be accessed when you're online, and these folders are easy to see because at the end of the folder name there's the text "(ONLINE)" attached.

What you can do here is go to any of these folders and browse through all the images to see what you can find, and if you see an image you like, you can right-click on it and click on the preview to see how exactly the image will be drawn.

Once you have found the image you like and have already seen the preview, just click on it and it will be added directly to the canvas area, and once the image is already on the canvas, you can click and drag the image to resize it, you can also use the buttons at the corners of the image to resize it, and if you click and hold it in the center of the image, you can rotate the image.

Now that you put an image in the canvas, you can see our first event at the bottom of the timeline.You can see the thumbnail of the object on the left side of the element, and on the right side you can see what kind of event the element has (in this case, it's a "DRAW" event), and by definition, VideoScribe actually draws any element added to the canvas.

You can see a period estimated in seconds below that, and this is actually the time it takes to draw the picture for VideoScribe.What you can do here is by clicking on the "+" button, you can increase the drawing time and increasing the drawing time by clicking on the " -" button.

What you can do here is press the "paper-like" icon and it will take you to the properties of the image

And here you can see a number of options on how you can manipulate how the image will appear and how the canvas will animate it.

1.The various animation methods (DRAW, MOVE IN, MORPH) can be seen at the top, and at the moment my image is using the default DRAW method.

2.There are various options below the animation methods that you can use to adjust the effect of the brush, color effect, rotate the image, flip the image, and give the image transparency.

3.The timing area (ANIMATE – PAUSE – TRANSITION) is below these options. In fact, the ANIMATE time is the same as we looked at the timeline area earlier.

4.Once you're satisfied with your settings, all you need to do is click the check button to accept all the changes you've made.

Add a text element

Now that the picture is done, let's add a text element now.
Just next to the toolbar image icon, you'll see the text icon.

And if you tap that, a text entry area pops up and you can enter the message you want immediately.

You can do the following here as well:

1. Select the type of font for your text component

2. For your text component, choose the font color you want

3. After you have finished typing your message, simply click the check icon and your text will    appear in the canvas

And like the image element, you can drag just rotate the text element anywhere in the canvas.

If you now look at the timeline at the bottom of the screen, there is now also the text element, and just like the picture element, you can also adjust the animation speed of your text element right in the timeline area.

The timeline also dictates the order in which the events will occur or the order in which the elements will be inserted into the canvas, and how this whiteboard animation software works will build layers so that elements such as images and texts will appear on top of each other as you pass through your project.If you want the items in the timeline to be reordered, simply highlight the item you want in the timeline zone, then click and drag to the location you want.

Now that I have finished showing you the components, what we can do now is preview the plan, and you can do this by clicking the preview button on VideoScribe's top right side

Add sounds

Now, I'd like to show you how to add voice over and soundtracks to this doodle sketch software's projects and we'll start with voice over first.

Voiceovers

While adding voiceover, there are actually different ways you can use, and the first approach I would suggest is to record your voice over first, and you can either record right in VideoScribe, or you can also use other recording devices that you want to record your voiceover, then just import your recorded voiceover into VideoScribe, then when you have your voiceover in Videoscribe already.

The other way around is the opposite of the first, where you first build your scribe, then you just play it when you've already built your scribe, then you start recording your voiceover while playing your scribe.

Only press the voiceover button next to the soundtrack icon to add a voice over.

Importing it to VideoScribe is one of the options for getting your voiceover.The choice to import your voiceover from the internet or from your computer can be seen below.If you use this method, the file must be an mp3 file otherwise VideoScribe will not recognize it

The other alternative is by clicking this to record it right inside VideoScribe.

If you use this, make sure your desktop or laptop has a microphone or otherwise it won't work.To start recording VideoScribe, simply click the Record button

The scribe starts playing as soon as you do that and it will also start recording the voice as you go through it.Once you're done, just press the check button to store your voiceover recording as part of the project to VideoScribe.

Now you can see that the voiceover icon is highlighted, which means we have added a voiceover to the project now (see picture below).

Add soundtrack

press the soundtrack icon next to the text icon to add a soundtrack.

You can also import a soundtrack from the internet or from your computer by clicking on the soundtrack button.

In addition, VideoScribe has a library full of lots and lots of different soundtracks.

In reality, the soundtracks are classified according to their tempo, as defined by a square dot mark on the right side of the soundtrack, and the fewer dots, the calm the soundtrack is, and the more dots it has, the heavier the soundtrack is.

Through pressing the soundtrack's play button, you can preview every soundtrack.

To pick the soundtrack, just click on the soundtrack you chose and press the check icon once you're pleased with it.

Publish Scribe

The next thing I want to show you is how you can publish your project, and you can do that by pressing the icon on VideoScribe's very top right corner, which is actually the publish button.

When you click that, a pop-up will appear in Videoscribe and you can see the different publishing choices in the bottom, including publishing to YouTube, and what you can do is click on any of the options, and once you do that, the video will start to be produced for you.

And that takes me to the end of my analysis and walkthrough of VideoScribe, and all I can conclude is that this animation software is really easy to use, and based on my first-hand experience, I can say that VideoScribe is one of the best whiteboard animation software on the market today, and apart from that, the video created is really good.
